Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do

跆拳道 (Korean) The way of the hand and foot

Tae Kwon Do – exists as a modern martial art derived from two indigenous martial arts: Taekyon and Soo Bahk.  The study of Tae Kwon Do includes a robust emphasis on kicks originating from a mobile stance that employs the leg's greater extension and power to disable the attacker from a distance.  Tae Kwon Do training also involves a systematic arsenal of blocks, punches, open-handed strikes, various take-downs or sweeps, throws, and some joint locks.  Zhang Sah teaches WTF style Tae Kwon Do.
