A preparatory curriculum of Budo martial arts designed for children ages 6-12 years old. In the Budo Primer program children are taught select components of the Budo curriculum in a progressive sequence designed to prepare them to achieve the Primer black belt. These select components are:
Hand Techniques
Kicking Techniques
Karate forms
Aikido/Judo falling techniques
Judo grappling techniques
One step sparring
Board Breaking
Self defense and sparring
Children may enter the dojo through the primer program between the ages of 6 and 12 and may remain in the program until they are ready to move up to the adult Budo program. This usually occurs either after achieving the Primer Black Belt or upon reaching adolescence (usually between the ages of 13 and 15).
